Experiences of Tilicho Lake Trekking
From 20th September to 4th October I was in Round Annapurna trekking with Australian guests. Starting from Kathmandu, we drove to Beshisahar and stayed overnight there. Next day, we drove four hours to Chamje. The monsoon was not over yet and the mountain off road was really wonderful for the guests. During the trek, the view of the Manaslu Himal was amazing. From chame the view of the Lamjung Himalaya was really beautiful. The High hills and landscape around the Pisanig village were breathtaking. The weather was very good that allowed us to see beautiful Annapurna Second, Gangapurna Himal and Tilicho peak from Manang. We enjoyed two hours terrible and scary trekking trail from Shreekharka to Tilicho Base Camp. Some toursts from other agencies cancelled their further walk and got back to the Base Camp. It is not advisable to go ahead during the rainfall. Tilicho Base Camp is a small vally surrounded by the beautiful mountains with amazing landscape. After 4 hours trek, we arrived to beautiful Tilicho Lake at the height of 4920 meters. It is the highest elevation Lake in the world. We enjoyed the fantastic view of beautiful Tilicho Lake, took some pictures and got back to Tilicho Base Camp. We observed small snowfall on the way to Thorongla pass which is the highest pass in the world. The Muktinath temple with 108 running water taps and the crowd of pilgrims made the temple area very colorful. The landscape and grennery in Kagbeni and Marpha village with apple and apricot gardens were wonderful. The muddy and mountain off road drive along the Kaligandaki River from Jomsom to Beni Bazzar was additional adventure to make the entire trip memorable.
