On top of the Nagarjun hill, there is a small Stupa and a view tower to view the beautiful Kathmandu valley and beautiful snowcapped mountains such as Manaslu Himal, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal. Nagarjun hill is named after the founder of the Mahayan system in Buddhism or Mahayan doctrine. Nagarjun was born in southern India around the end of second century A.D. Nagarjun was the greatest Buddhist philosopher and mastered all the sciences, and specially in magic art. Because of the magic art, he obtained the rainbow body and transport himself one to another place by supernatural power.

People believe that Nagarjun came to this place and did hard meditation. With this belief, Buddhist and Hindu people give lots of importance to Nagarjun hill. Nowadays it is quite interesting also for the tourists as it keeps them away from the crowded Kathmandu city.
