The Bhote Koshi is considered as one of the best short white water rafting in the world. Bhote means Tibet and Koshi means river in local language. So the Bhote Koshi means 'river from Tibet'.

Rafting in the Bhote Koshi, the steepest river rafted in Nepal,  is an excellent trip to those with some previous rafting experience. The source of this river lies in the mountains to the east of the Kathmandu-Lhasa Highway in Tibet. It is a short, intense and thrilling rafting trip. Hence, rafters with limited time in Nepal can easily raft in Bhote Koshi River that has grade IV-V rapids at high flow and grade III at lower level.

Baseri is the main put-in point of this rafting, located at north-east of Kathmandu. To reach Baseri, we need to drive for about 4 hours from Kathmandu. Despite  Koshi River offers a great rafting experience in whitewater, we will not have much time for the mountain view. But on the way back to Kathmandu we can take a short break in Dhulikhel, one of the best places to view beautiful Himalayas in Nepal.  Kayaking in Bhote Koshi River is also an extremely adventure activity.
