Bheri River is a mature and easy river that origins in the Dolpo region of Nepal. Bheri River flows through Surkhet valley before joining the Karnali River and after entering the plain Terai it flows into the Bardiya National Park in mid-western region in Nepal. Very few tourists raft on this river as it is a non- touristic area. It is easy river to raft although many rapids and thrilling rides will be encountered.
During the rafting, one can explore the typical Nepali villages with well preserved ancient traditions. Previously, this area was predominantly inhabited by the nomadic hunting Raute tribe in Nepal. Some Rautes still live around the Bheri River. Rafters that raft in other rivers in Nepal will not have a chance to know about Raute community.
Most of the time in this rafting trip, rafters will see mainly cliffs, forest and wildlife. Bird watching is excellent during the camping. On the final day, the river enters into the Bardiya National Park where the rafters can enjoy the diverse flora and fauna, varieties of animal, including Genetic Dolphins and birds. Bheri River rafting is very popular also for fishing.
It is about 20 hours drive from Kathmandu to Samjighat, the starting point. If taken an one hour flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, it is only four hours drive to Samjhighat.

Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalganj about one hour and again about 4 hours drive to Starting point and stay overnight in the tents at the bank of the river or drive from Kathmandu to starting point.
Day 02: After breakfast about 9:00 am starts our expedition. The first section of the Bheri River is very rough and have many exciting rapids. During the lunch rafters could enjoy with bird watching. At evening we could rest and enjoy in sandy beaches.
Day 03: After breakfast about 9:00 am starts rafting. From Kumal gaun to Jamu it is very exciting section which passes through the narrow gorges. The rafting encounters with small villages and too white water.
Day 04: After breakfast starts rafting and encounters with some exciting rapids. After one hour rafting we arrive to the confluence of the Bheri and Karnali river. Again we enter to the gorge section of the river with some exciting rapids and we join to the Bardiya National Park where our trip ends.
Day 05: We can stay in Bardiya National Park with jungle activities.
Day 06: Drive back to Kathmandu or fly from Nepalganj to Kathmandu.
