Round Annapurna trekking is one of the best and most rewarding treks in Nepal. In the Annapurna round, the trekkers have an opportunity to explore the wonderful views of the southern and northern Himalayas and the beautiful Nepali hills. The cost starts at US$799.00.

Thorong-La Pass (5,415m) is the highest pass on this trek. From Thorong-La Pass, the trail goes all the way down to Muktinath, an important holy place for both Hindus and Buddhists. Close to Muktinath temple, tourists can view an eternal burning flame over the underground water spring.

The Annapurna circuit provides tourists with an opportunity to explore many different Nepali ethnic groups, their culture and traditions. An excursion day in Muktinath is a fantastic way to understand the ethnic people and their culture. Trekkers encounter red rhododendron forests fully bloomed in March to April. The landscape on this trek is amazing. Some parts of this trek grant you access to a dense forest. And another part comprises just the necked hills and snowcapped mountains.

Tourists enjoy a bath in the natural hot water pond at Tatopani. The Poone hill at Ghorepani is the best place to view the amazing scenery of the Annapurna and Dhoulagiri Himalayan ranges, both above 8,000m.

A miraculous view of Gangapurna himal from Manang village. Yaks are the mountain transport and used for flesh too. Tilicho lake is situated at the height of 4919 meter in annapurna trekking area.

Flora and Fauna in round Annapurna trekking

There are many plants in Annapurna trekking. Schima,chestnut,hemlock,silver fir, rhododendrons, and many small plants. Schima and chestnut are the major species of trees. In the Nepali language, schima is called chilanune (itchy). It belongs to the tea family. Chestnut belongs to the family of oak or beech. The evergreen oaks are found at a height of 1,700m to 3,000m. There are more than 30 species of rhododendron called "Lali Gurans" in the Nepali language. The lower land of the trekking trail is covered by beautiful rhododendron flowers. The hills are just as colourful in spring when the rhododendron trees bloom.

There are many small birds around the Annapurna trek, including white-capped river chat,whistling thrush,large pied kingfisher, white-breasted kingfisher, Eurasian kingfisher, Himalayan griffon, and lamer geier.

There are more than 100 wild animals found in the Annapurna round trek. Among them, trekkers could view monkeys and common langurs. Blue sheep are more common, and trekkers may come across them between Manang and Thorongla Pass. Leopards and bears are also found in this area.

Trekking Essentials

  • Backpack (50 liters) with outside pockets to keep smaller items
  • Trekking boots, well broken in and waterproofed. Gaiters to keep snow out of boots

Important Information Before Your Trip to Nepal

Payment:  Down payment: 15% of total payment  is required to confirm the reservation.

Payment of the Balance: Rest amount can be paid in our office after your arrival.

Arrival Point: You will be met at the Kathmandu international airport. Our office representative will be waiting for you holding play card of the Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition. In case of your change plan, please let us inform.

Booking  Air Ticket:  If you don't have regular travel agent, please visit    makemytrip.com, www.kayak.com, www.vayama.com. They  offer you very good price.

Room System: Normally we have two people in a room. Twin bed or single bed depends on the choice of guests and budget. If tourists want single room, s/he should pay single supplementary.

Trekking Leading Person:  Our trekking guide will lead the whole trip with his/her helpers and porters.

Currencies:  USD, AUD, EURO are major acceptable currencies in Nepal and visa and credit cards also accepted. There is ATM facility in city area.

Altitude Sickness: Altitude sickness will start from 3000 meter height. Trekkers should immediately inform trekking guide if faced any problems.

Drinking Water:  We can get mineral water and boiled water in city area and in some trekking places. We use water purification tablet or liquid in some remote trekking sites.

Laundry Facility: Laundry facility are available in city area but not during the trekking.

Visa: You can get arrival visa at Kathmandu airport that cost 25 USD  for  15 days and 40 USD for 30 days. Please bring 2 passport size photos. You can get your visa from the closest Nepali embassy.

Orientation Program: Before starting trekking, trekkers are provided with an  orientation by our office representative or trekking guide about the necessary trekking information.

Group Size: There will be maximum 12 persons in one group.

Accommodation: You will stay in a nice tourist standard hotel/resort in city areas.  Normal hotels or tents are available during the trekking.

Foods: We provide breakfast, lunch, dinner. Tourists can get continental food both in city and trekking places. Food during the trekking might not meet the standard of your country.

View of Mount Everest: Trekkers to Everest region  will of course see the Mount Everest. For trekkers visiting other regions where they cannot view Mount Everest, there are daily mountain flights which approach close to Mount Everest.

Travel Insurance:  It is compulsory to have travel insurance.

Personal Expenses:  It depends on your spending interest and shopping. There are some expensive handmade carpets, Thanka paintings, jewelries and handicrafts to purchase in Nepal.

Luggage: We take only about 10kg per person in trekking. Your excess baggage will be stored in a hotel.

Tips: Tips are highly accepted and appreciated.

Rules and Regulation

Nepal Mountain Lovers Treks and Expedition accepts your reservation under the following rules and regulations.

1. If the balance payment is not paid before your departure for trekking, the booking will be cancelled without any refund.

2. If there is war or the situation of the country is out of control and the country faces emergency situation before your arrival to Nepal, we inform you not to come Nepal and refund your payment. But in case of any emergency situation or war after your arrival or during the trekking, we will not refund your money. But we will try our best to make your trip successful and pleasant. In such situation, we may need to change the trip plan and itinerary.

3. In case of increase in government royalty and other costs such as the national park fee, you have to pay extra money.

4. If you commit any illegal act or disturbance for the safety and welfare of the group, our leader or guide can ask to leave the group without any right to refund.

5. If you have any complain with regards to trekking and tour please inform our tour leader or company. All kinds of valid complain are welcomed and processed with necessary actions.

6.You are responsible to ensure that all travel documents  are with you during the entire trip.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival. Welcome by our office representative at the airport and transfer to hotel

Day 02: Introduction to the guide. Briefing about the trekking and trekking preparation, including essentials

Day 03: About 6 hrs drive to Beshisahar from Kathmandu. The road leads along the mountains and thundering rivers like Trishuli and Marshandi. The green hill road is really amazing. Lunch is provided on the way in a typical Nepali local restaurant

Day 04: Breakfast. Drive about 4 hrs till Chamje. The mountain road is really wonderful. Take lunch on the way to Chamje. About 2 hrs trekking starts from Chamje and stay at Tal village (1,800m)

Day 05: Breakfast. In 2 hrs pleasant walk we arrive to Dharapani from where we can see the magnificent view of the Manaslu Himal (8,156m). The trail goes gradually uphill and in another 2 hrs we arrive to Danakyu (2,210m). Stay overnight

Day 06: Breakfast. Trekking and first 2 hrs is the trail really steep till Timang and the trail leads almost flat till Chame (2,700m). If the weather is good, we can view very clearly the Mt. Manaslu. As you move towards Chame. We can see the beautiful Mt. Annapurna Second till Chame. Stay overnight

Day 07: Breakfast. Trek about 5 hrs to Pisang (3,200m) starts. The trail passes through the pine tree with amazing view of rocks. In Pisang you can see the beautiful buck wheat fields and ‘Mani Walls’ with prayer wheels. Stay overnight

Day 08: Breakfast. Trek about 5 hrs from Pisang to Manang (3,400m) starts through almost flat road. Tall rocks and Hongde airport are the main attractions of the Day and stay at Manang

Day 09: We spend one more day in Manang for acclimatization as we have to encounter with the Thorong-La Pass (5,415 m). We can make excursion day around the Manang village. There are some monasteries. We can walk till Chongar view point

Day 10: After breakfast we head to Yak Kharka and takes about 4 hrs walk from Manang. From Manang, the trail leads graduaaly uphill but it is flat road and stay overnight to Yak Kharka (4,020m). From here you can see herds of Yaks and Blue Sheeps grazing around the hills

Day 11: We walk gradually uphill about 4 hrs till Thorong Phedi (4,500m)

Day 12: Today we wake up early in the morning and have breakfast and walk 4 hrs steep up and 4 hrs down to Muktinath (3,810m) via Thorong-La Pass

Day 13: Pleasant walk about 3 hrs. The trail goes all the way down and visit beautiful village Kagbeni located at the bank of Kaligandaki River (2,600m) after Muktinath temple excursion on the way. The red–walled Kagchode Thubten Sampheling Gompa is really impressive to visit

Day 14: Walk about 3 hrs to Jomsom, the headquarters of Mustang district. Look around and rest. The road passes almost flat or down till Tukuche. In Marpha, you can see the beautiful apple and apricot gardens and stay at Tukuche (2,600m). It takes about 6 hours walk altogether to Tukuche

Day 15: Today we walk about 5 hrs to Ghasa. The trail passes along the bank of Kali Gandaki River. If the weather is clear, we can view the beautiful views of Nilgiri Peak, Dhoaulagiri and Annapurna Himal and stay at Ghasa (2,000m)

Day 16: About 6 hrs walk to Tatopani and enjoy in natural hot water spring (1,100m)

Day 17: Today's walk is little longer, 7 hrs uphill to Ghorepani (2,800m) through the beautiful Sikha village and stay overnight

Day 18: In the early morning, we walk about 45 minutes uphill to Poon hill, the best view point of Nepal. From here we can view the whole range of Dhoaulagiri, Annapurna range, Nilgiri and sunrise. Spend about 45 minutes here and get back down to Ghorepani. Breakfast. Trek about 4 hrs to Hile (1,500m). Today the road goes all the way down

Day 19: About 4 hours trek down to Birethanti (1,100m) and have lunch. This is the ending point of our adventure trekking journey. Drive about 45minutes to Pokhara. Overnight stay at the hotel

Day 20: Drive  to Kathmandu from Pokhara with tourist Bus

Day 21: Rest in Kathmandu
