Kali Gandaki trekking lies in the Annapurna Conservation Area. Kali Gandaki is the name of the holy river, very popular as Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims. The trekking trail leads along the Kali Gandaki River. During the festival time, many pilgrims visit this river and take holy bath.

In Kali Gandaki trekking, we see the fossils. Hindu and Buddhist people believe that these fossils are the representation of gods. Most of the tourists visit Muktinath temple which belongs to the god of liberation. There are 108 taps that are beleived to be different representations gods. According to Hindu and Buddhist belief, if people take bath in those taps, they will go to heaven after their death. With this belief, people take bath in those taps even in the very cold winter. Close to the Muktinath temple, there are some worth visiting eternal burning flames just over the water spring.

In Kali Gandaki trekking, the views of Dhoulagiri and Annapurna Himalayas, above 8,000m, are amazing. Besides, there are other snowcapped peaks and mountains like Dhampus Peak, Pisang Peak and Nil giri Mountain. In Tukuche and Marpha, the apple and apricot gardens are really intresting. In Ghasa, there is a world’s dippiest gorge in Kali Gandaki river. The jointed flat roofed mud houses are wonderful in Kagbeni. The main purpose to join the houses is to protect them from wind, storm and snowfalls. These houses reminds us ancient life. In Jharkot, there is a medieval King Palace and a Bon-Po Gompa. On the way to Kali Gandaki trekking, we see many Buddhist Chortens and monastries.
